The game between ICSU and KKFS on March 16, 2023 was interesting. Although there have been many fresh additions to the team such as Ludan C. (Striker), Lucas K.(Defender), Timur K. (Defender) and many more, it was not enough to get a win over the KKFS Merlins.
Although there have been many promising starts to the game, the Merlins were the first to put themselves on the scoreboard with a scrambled goal following a corner. However, the Eagles quickly retaliated with a superb goal from David L. (Striker). After the equalizer, the game seemed to be in a stalemate for a while, until the Merlins scored to make the score 2-1 right before halftime from a corner.
During the second half, the Merlins were completely in control of the game. Although there was a goal from Ludan C. (Striker) to give a glimmer of hope for the Eagles, it was not enough to make a strong comeback. Not only that, with two additional goals from the Merlins, the final score was 4-2. Although the Eagles put in a lot of effort into the game, it was not enough to get the scoreboard in the Eagle’s favor.
Although the Eagles showed many flashes of brilliance throughout the game, the reasons for their eventual defeat was evident. The poor defensive and midfield performance from the Eagles was perfectly shown on the scoreboard. Not only that, with many missed chances from the Eagle’s attack, it was evident on the reason behind only two goals being scored. However, there were still large improvements in the Eagle’s gameplay, with a lot more passes being completed and far more chances being made. Once the veteran players and the new additions to the team are able to get the team chemistry up, the Eagles may become a force to be reckoned with in the near future.
The Eagle’s co-captain Sean K. stated, “Once our team chemistry increases, we will be able to score more.”
