With the start of the new school year, it's time for clubs again. ISCU students will have the opportunity to join existing clubs as well as being introduced to new ones, including dance and book Elementary Book Club. ISCU writer Lucy Bae spoke to Grade 11 student Jane Lim and teacher sponsor and librarian Hyegeong Kim, known around the school as Ms Kim, about their clubs.

With close to 10 years dance experience it made sense for Jane to lead the dance club. She said the club was designed to welcome all students, no matter their skill level or taste in music.

"I have decided to make this club to open the world of dance to students," Jane said.

"Seeing students improving in their dance skills will really make me happy. I want to make ICSU students more like family through this club." Elementary Book Club sponsor Ms. Kim said, she wanted to see students enjoying reading in various different ways. "CSU elementary Book Club supports the students to share their thoughts based on the book they are reading," she said. "The purpose of the club is to create a community where students are comfortable interacting with one another and to build literacy skills for ICSU elementary students." Student Helen Kim also spoke to The Scribe and said she would be leading the string ensemble club. "This will be my second year leading this club," she said. "The purpose of the club is to help string instrument players to learn how to play with others, and to give them a chance to perform their songs in front of others. "Playing a string instrument by themselves and playing it with others are significantly different because they will have to focus and consider others' sounds while they play.

"One goal for this year is to gather more students who are just beginning to play string instruments and help them to learn how to play those instruments." Subscribe and follow us for videos, links, content and stories about ICSU! Thank you and God Bless.
